Musical Rooms

This is a game we will be playing during the next two weeks.

The main goals: To have the girl's share a room and have a play room so Alli can play with Ella's toys without it upsetting Ella. (The toys will be fair game) To have more room in Ella's room without all of her toys. To give Cole his old room back, complete with a closet and a door. ;)

So, Alli will move into Ella's room. The girls (mostly Ella's) toys will move into Cole's room and Cole will move into Alli's room (which is his old room). It's a good thing we haven't painted any rooms yet!

Phase one: This weekend we will move Alli's crib into Ella's room and move some of Ella's toys into Alli's room so there is a space for the crib. We will give this a week or two to see how it will work before moving everyone around.

Phase two: Switching Ella's full sized bed into the garage and moving the pretty cherry wood daybed that we were saving for Alli into Ella's room. The day bed will take up less space.

Phase three: Moving the rest of Alli's things into Ella's room, moving Cole into Alli's room and moving Ella's toys into the new playroom. This one will take awhile, that's a lot of moving!

Phase four: (in 6 mo. to a year) Moving Alli's crib out of Ella's room, moving the day bed back into the garage and bringing the full size bed back for the girl's to share. (this one is a maybe, it might work better to put Alli in a toddler bed and keep Ella in the day bed)

Confused yet? Me too! The kids are very excited for this change, as are we! The bonus room will be 100% kid friendly and we won't have to worry about Cole's snake and his breakable things when other kids are over.

Any tips on the transition on moving Alli into Ella's room? I'm a little nervous, but they wake up at the same time, so that won't be a problem.

On a side note, does anyone else feel SO much better now that the sun is out? I guess I can blame my yucky, bla mood on the gloomy skies this week!
